Our name ARX comes from the Latin word for Fortress. The investment concept behind ARX is to protect the client's investments, while selectively investing in securities that will grow over time. The ARX principals  believe that a value oriented investment philosophy emphasizing dividends provides clients with a stable and conservative source of returns. The principals have successfully employed this philosophy over the past decade to generate above average returns while assuming below average risk.

Studies have shown that over longer-term investment periods, dividends and the reinvestment of dividends have generated roughly half of the total return from an all equity portfolio. The growth of the dividend stream and its reinvestment, when compounded over time, is a powerful investment strategy that minimizes risk and provides investors with an above average risk-adjusted rate of return.

Patience and fundamental equity research are key tenets of ARX's investment philosophy. Our approach allows time for a company's management to enact changes that will improve the financial performance of the firm. ARX believes that its' patience will ultimately be rewarded, as economic and corporate improvements increase a firm's valuation and generate a corresponding increase in dividends. Our approach is not dependent on capital gain “home runs”, but on hitting "singles", supplemented by an above average stream of dividends.
